Harrison Butker: Is It Time for the Kansas City Chiefs to Move On?

Harrison Butker has made many great plays as the Chiefs’ kicker over the years, but the costly miss against the Broncos was the final straw for me.

Victory for the Chiefs would’ve put them two games ahead of the Broncos whilst also holding the tie-breaker over them, putting them in complete control of the AFC West. That is now not the case.

The Chiefs were up 24-21 when Harrison Butker missed a 54-yard field goal attempt with two and a half minutes remaining in the match. A successful kick would’ve put the Chiefs up 27-21, forcing the Broncos to score a touchdown to win the game. Instead, the miss set the Broncos up at midfield, and it took them just two plays to take the lead, punishing Butker for his missed kick, his sixth of the season – a career high already.

Despite the Chiefs having an opportunity to win the game at the death, they couldn’t get over the line, literally, as they were turned away on 4th & goal.

The fact remains that Harrison Butker has become a liability this season, which is a real shame as he has made some very important kicks over his time with the Chiefs, but his misses this season can’t be tolerated any longer.

The Chiefs controversially signed former Ravens kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad on 28th October.

In my opinion, the Chiefs need to at least consider cutting Butker and moving Tucker to the main roster.

Personally, sorry Harrison, but it is time to go!
