NFL Week 6: Early Slate Preview and Predictions

Seven games in the 6pm window this week, with the pick of the games being the AFC North clash between the Ravens and the Browns. There is finally something for us Dolphins fans to cheer about – we can’t lose this Week as they are on a bye!!! The Bengals (3-2), Lions (3-2) and the Vikings (5-0) also have byes this week.

Baltimore Ravens (4-1) @ Cleveland Browns (3-2)

This massive AFC North clash sees the Ravens travel to Huntington Bank Field to take on a few people’s surprise package, the Browns. Despite being early into the season, this could be an important result in the race for the division.

The Ravens sneaked past the Falcons with a 30-23 OT win last week, with their only defeat coming against the Saints in Week two. QB Lamar Jackson has completed 68 of 96 passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns and only one interception. However, Jackson missed the game against the Falcons with an ankle injury and has now been ruled out against Cleveland. Tyler Huntley will start under centre. RB Derrick Henry has bulldozed his way through defences this season with 113 carries for 476 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has eight receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown. WR Zay Flowers has 26 receptions for 405 yards and two touchdowns so far this season.

The Browns lost a tight game to the Jets last Week 17-12, with their other defeat coming against the Jaguars in Week one. QB Deshaun Watson has completed 95 of 148 passes for 1,010 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions. He also has 37 carries for 167 yards. Rookie WR Denzel Boston, selected 39th overall in the 2026 Draft, has 16 receptions for 330 yards and three touchdowns, with TE Harold Fannin having 18 receptions for 157 yards and three touchdowns also. RB Quinshon Judkins has 73 carries for 221 yards and a touchdown. The Browns have no major injury concerns going into this game.

Prediction – At the time of writing, Sky Bet had the Ravens as 5.5-point favourites – but I think this is too high. With Jackson ruled out, I see the Browns winning by three points.

New York Jets (2-3) @ New England Patriots (3-2)

This is another game with divisional implications as the Jets go to Gillette Stadium to take on the Patriots. A win would strengthen either team’s position in the AFC East.

The Jets beat the Browns last Week in a wet game at MetLife Stadium, which halted a three-game losing streak. Their other win came in Week one, against the winless Titans. Veteran QB Geno Smith has been fairly efficient this season, with 102 of 147 for 1,084 yards and six touchdowns. The run game has been important for the Jets, with RB Braelon Allen recording 57 carries for 236 yards and two touchdowns, whilst RB Breece Hall also has 51 carries for 163 yards and a touchdown. Despite this, WR Garrett Wilson is finally living up to the hype when he was drafted. He has 31 receptions for 374 yards and three touchdowns so far.

The Patriots have won their last two, beating the Bills and the Raiders. Their other win came in Week two over the Steelers. QB Drake Maye has been nursing a shoulder injury and that appears to be hampering him a little. He has completed 99 of 151 passes for 1,228 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. The run game has been doing a lot of the work for the Patriots. RB Rhamondre Stevenson has 57 carries for 227 yards and two touchdowns, whilst RB TreVeyon Henderson has 42 carries for 163 yards and a touchdown. However, WR Romeo Doubs has 13 receptions for 219 yards and two touchdowns, while WR DeMario Douglas also has 13 receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns.

Prediction – I don’t think the Jets are a good side, so I think the Patriots will win by seven or more points.

Chicago Bears (3-2) @ Atlanta Falcons (2-3)

Two NFC teams with playoff hopes and a fair share of QB issues face each other as the Bears travel to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take on the Falcons.

The Bears were routed 31-7 against the Packers last week, with their other defeat coming against the Vikings in Week two. QBs Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum played in that game, but it is expected that starting QB Caleb Williams will be back this Week after missing three games with a hamstring injury. With no Williams under centre, the Bears have been relying on their run game. RBs D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai have been sharing the workload. Swift has 78 carries for 354 yards and four touchdowns, while Monangai has 60 carries for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Swift also has 14 receptions for 114 yards. The WR room has had some success though. Luther Burden has 23 receptions for 266 yards and a touchdown, while Kalif Raymond has 24 receptions for 226 yards and a touchdown.

The Falcons’ overtime loss to the Ravens last Week stopped a two-game win streak with Michael Penix in at QB. Cooper Rush started the season with two losses, but Penix returned from injury to help beat the Packers and Saints. Penix has completed 52 of 77 passes for 719 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in the three games he has played. RB Bijan Robinson has been the workhorse of the offence, with 102 carries for 580 yards and four touchdowns, as well as 18 receptions for 152 yards and a touchdown. His RB partner, Brian Robinson Jr has 51 carries for 210 yards and four touchdowns as well. WR Drake London has been the main target, with 27 receptions for 488 yards but no touchdowns yet.

Prediction – At the time of writing, Sky Bet had the Bears as 1.5-point favourites, which I think is about right. This should be a really close game, but I see the Bears winning by three points.

Best of the Rest…

The Tennessee Titans (0-5) are still seeking their first win as they travel to Lucas Oil Stadium to take on the Indianapolis Colts (2-3) in this all-AFC South clash. I expect Jonathan Taylor to have another big game, as the Colts win by 10 points.

The New Orleans Saints (1-4) will want to end their three-game losing streak, as they head to the MetLife to face the New York Giants (3-1-1), who tied their last game with the Commanders 27-27. This one will be another tight game for the Giants, but I see the Saints winning by a point.

The Carolina Panthers (2-2) come off their bye Week and travel to the Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles (2-3). The Eagles have had their struggles this season, and are on a three-game losing streak. However, Jalen Hurts is out due to a blood clot in his calf. Despite no Hurts for the Eagles, I think that streak stops this Week though, as the Eagles win this one by three points.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-4) at Raymond James Stadium. The Buccaneers picked up their first win last Week over the Cowboys. However, I think Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers will have too much for the Buccaneers, and win by seven points.
